Garrett's Quilt

Garrett needed a quilt for his twin bed so I whipped this one up for his birthday. Lost of scraps but it should be fun for a 4 year old to sleep under !I quilted little cars into it...
It was lots of fun to make this one for you Garrett !

Good Bye to one job!

After 9 years I've left my job at the quilt store. I'll be posting lots on my new job soon but this week saw my last days to work here. It's been a good run but after this busy month I'll be sort of glad to be back to one job. I'll keep you posted on the up and coming news !

Birthday lunch with Garrett

What fun I had to get to take Garrett on an early birthday lunch to celebrate turning 4 ! Amy and Ethan and Garrett met me at the "chosen" place......Chick fil a ! Fun eats and play on the toys and then we needed some ice cream to top it off , so swirl it saw us too ! Nice break in the day for me to see such sweet smiling faces ! And a birthday boy besides ! I hope you have fun being 4 Garrett !

What a great way to start the day !

Good Morning Bode ! I had the pleasure of getting to go over to Chris and MB's early one morning, I had the wee hours free before I started on the clock at my sewing machine so I went over to spend some morning hours with Bode ! 6:30 AM I arrived and he's wide awake so he and I had a couple hours of fun time this morning while Mommy and Daddy got another hour or so of sleep ! Before I left he decided it was time to sleep, what a great way to start the day rocking little Bode Baby 4 weeks old !

Happy 4th Birthday Garrett !

Today is Garrett's birthday ! I can't believe one of my favorite little guys is now 4 !Here he is showing me his 4 fingers ! You will have so much fun being 4 now Garrett ! Grammy loves her Garrett !

Fun Evening at Amy's

Amy invited us down to enjoy an early dinner and a squirt gun war this past weekend with them. Here is Ken arriving "fully loaded"....We had a yummy dinner they made, quiche and cinnamon rolls and I brought a salad. The cinnamon rolls were to die for , she got the recipe from Best bites blog. I think we all just wanted to chow down on the cinnamon rolls, forget the salad ! Then the action begins... here's a blurry shot of all three little boys... even Ethan gets the hang of a fun squirt gun !

Here is Aiden last week with his new lunch box, he showed me all around it and how it opens and what you put where and wouldn't you know it, he opened the bottom to show me and there was bunny ! And of course it's green !

An Evening with Bode

Bode got to come over for the evening last night to play with Papa and I ! What fun was that. What a long day at work watching the clock so I could get home ! Sorry for the sideways view, turned it twice and it still loads sideways ! Bode looks so little here with Papa's hand on his chest !
He took his first bottle like a champ ! Downed 3 oz. like nothing ! What fun to rock a baby !
Here are Chris and MB back to get their little Bode bear, they had a nice dinner out but we had more fun !

Table Runner

I finished this table runner this week. It's from a pattern I'm going to be teaching this fall. It was lots of fun to do. My sister gets to have this one live at her house ! :-) Yea for finished projects !

Bode came for dinner

Chris and MB came over tonight to have dinner with us. It was fun to cook for them ! I made dinner, also some white chili for them to take home and the leftovers from dinner so they should be set for a few days.

More on the quarters

Several of you have commented or emailed that you'll join the hunt of the missing quarters. I thought the picture would show it better but here is a list.....

Pennsylvania mint - Iowa, Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, Virgin Islands,Washington Obverse, fifty state obverse.
Denver Mint - Guam, Northern Marinara Islands, Virgin Islands, Washington Obverse, fifty state obverse
And on a side note the hammer was required as the "tap in place" tool. These folders hold the quarters in very tight so if you are in construction that means you use a hammer !

Quarters

We've been collecting the state quarters for a long time now and the holder we used to keep them in got ruined so for Fathers Day Ken got new holders to organize them . This weekend he started placing them in their appropriate spots.One holder is for ones struck in the Denver mint and the other has the P for the Pennsylvania mint on them. It seemed to involve a hammer too !!!! :-) Only a few are missing. It is harder for us to find the Pennsylvania mint ones here in the west. He got holders for the new "America the Beautiful" quarters that have started this year, commemorating all the National Parks. I have yet to see one tho but we are gonna keep watching !

What an Angel!

I got to stop in quickly to see Bode today. He looks like such a little angel doesn't he ! so sweet and relaxed !

Life is Good !

We had a fun swimming sort of morning today, the boys came early since it was my day off and it was to be 115 out. We had fun swimming and eating strawberries by the pool !So Amy left for some errands and the real fun begins !!!! We made a fort ! actually 2 forts, see how the tube goes from one fort to the next ! Thank goodness we don't run out of quilts !

So we started our lunch before Mommy got back so it'd be ready....PIZZA ! Hey Jamie we tried your new crusts ! They were good !
Ethan got in on the toppings of ham and pineapple... Life is good !

What a great Grammy Day !

Unbeknownst to me I was in for a great Grammy day today. I had planned to take some bagels to Chris and MB so I could see Bode early this morning. They were off to dr. appts. but were welcoming the help with him while they got ready. I arrived and had some great time to play with him all wide eyed and ready for the day ! I even got to give him a sponge bath, how fun was that ! MB was anxious to have help and ideas on what and how to do things ! I had a blast ! He went off with Mommy and Daddy to the dr. ( later we found he'd gained 6 oz. this week...right on target ) and I went on to Walmart where I ran in to these 3 cute munchkins !

They had planned on coming over later for swim and dinner and trip pictures, but Aiden came up with the idea of coming home with me......so after they were so excited to see me after this last month of being gone how could I refuse ( I got the best hugs in fact ! Ethan just hugged me for 10 minutes ) So away we went, Mommy went on her way to do her errands and the 3 boys and I came home. We went swimming, had lunch, played, had rest time and made dinner, went swimming again when Papa and Mommy showed up and then had dinner and pictures from their trip when their Daddy got here. What fun it was to see all the great places they went. They went home exhausted and asking what day they can come swimming again. Aiden starts school again in a couple weeks so hope it's soon ! Here's a darling little video of Bode I took today of all his little sounds at 2 weeks old. hope it works ! This exhausted Grammy is heading to bed! I loved my day with all my Boys !!!! !

July Thornberrie quilt meeting

We had our July meeting today at a local store using their classroom. Not to many came but we had lots to catch up on and visit about. Lorene finished piecing her Irish chain....those are 1 inch squares ! It's still getting another border and appliques in the corners. It's so pretty, on my to do list . Sue was there, she made this cute little top, the center is embroidered. Denise came too, she was prepping some P3 applique. I worked on blocks for class samples to teach.
This amazing top was done by sue, each piece is different, it was so pretty.

Bode came over to play !

So Bode came over to play tonight! Can you tell we had fun !!!!!Chris had called and we discussed who had what for dinner....so they brought meatballs, I had leftover spaghetti and sauce, whipped up a salad and great trader joes bread and we had a nice relaxing evening ! Here is Papa HOGGING the baby ! :-) Actually then I got a turn to do the same !!!!!

Great time with Friends !

We enjoyed a fun day this week and were able to Celebrate another birthday. Linda was the honored guest and she wanted a fun sewing day and lunch. So we had fun admiring Denise's quilt tops she'd made to donate. Judy hosted us and we had a great time. Linda had this neat block of the month that she had finished piecing the top on.
We had a wonderful lunch, I made 2 salads, Denise made these awesome sandwiches that had Brie cheese and thinly sliced apples with a bit of spicey mustard ! MMMMMM they were wonderful !
There was a bit of this ! Judy was in charge of the drinks and she made these great pull apart rolls to enjoy when we arrived.

Angel is officially a quilt dog now that she's laying on the blocks. Judy was laying out these pretty leaf blocks and of course if you are a quilt dog or cat, that is where you lay !
So here we are, my camera was not being nice for this picture. But we sure had fun. It was great to catch up as we'd had alot of excitment in each of our lives, 2 babies born, trips traveled, a daughters engagement, another home from London and school, a revamped arrangement at Judy's house. Friends are just the best !
