Well if you missed either of our 2 classes at ETC. on this cute little clutch you are in luck we are repeating it again for an evening class.  It's coming up April 4th at night from 6-8:30 at ETC.  We got some new color tops in so it's going to be fun to make kits for these!  You won't want to miss signing up, we had over 40 at each of the other two classes and all had a blast.  So if you want to make one or maybe another one we'll be there on that wed. night!

Family Reunion

I'm way behind on postings due to our fantastic week of "family reunion".  So I'll get back to a few more shots....feel free to just zoom on thru but I love seeing them so you might too!
It was so fun to anxiously await every family's arrival  from east coast to the plains!  After our Organ Stop pizza night,  we met at the church to decorate for the big anniversary party on friday morning.  Afterwards a few were game to run errands with me and then return to set up for the big bash at my house that afternoon.  40 were prepared for and all arrived and stayed until 9:30 for lots of food and fun!
Here are my cousin Carol from Texas and her daughter Sarah helping with all the frozen brownies and bars.
Amy came early enough with her boys so they all got acquainted with these fun balloon rockets.  After this they all ran around like they've known each other forever.  L-R is Aiden, Garrett and Ethan and then Rachael and Sarah from Texas.
Lots of fun for these kiddo's with these!
Here are sisters Carol and Judy from Farmington.
Here is Ethan letting me help him blow up his balloon rockets, yikes they were hard!
Amy and Rachael getting the flowers arranged for the party tomorrow.
 Judy and her niece Sarah
MB's folks Steve and Marie came, with their other 3 grands so all the kids had such fun.
 Marcy my sister and Alissa.
Rachael found time to do some art work during all the visiting! She loved getting into my scrapping stuff!
We took a fast trip to ETC. and they got to get a few goodies!  and a sucker of course!
 Alissa and Amy...
The kids had such fun all running around together, I'd bought a bunch of "junk" shall we say at the $$ store so all had slinkies and the rocket balloons to run with...
And I was sure someone would end up in the pool...
And I really thought it might be this one....but alas the night went off with no one in the water and no big person jumping in after them!
Here is Bode playing pool ball with his two Papa's!

Here are Judy and Sharon from Texas....2 sisters!
And these 2 sisters, Rachael and Sarah...
And here are 2 more sisters. My Mom and my Aunt Lea.  She came from Virginia to help celebrate the moment!  How fun for these 2 at 80 and 86 to get to do this!
And here are Judy and I.  Judy is also a quilter so there was NOT enough time for us to talk fabric and then she's a "scrap" person too so oh my gosh there really wasn't enough time. If you know what that is you would understand!
Me, Judy and her sister Carol...
And can you believe, we are all cousins and together!  We all remember about 35 years ago being together, I've seen them all periodically over the years but some never have reconnected.  L-R is my sister Marcy, Sharon from Texas, Debbie from Virginia, me, Judy from NM and Carol from Texas.  How cool was that!
Here are the 3 sisters, I loved seeing them together for a happy trip, last time I'd seen them was 2 years ago when I drove my folks to their Mom's funeral celebration.  So I'll show you more fun happenings from our reunion soon!

Sew and Go

Another great Sew and Go at ETC.  For the second week we taught our great little clutch...and again we had 40+ people...oh my gosh in 2 weeks we've had 80 people make this pattern of ours!  So here is Theresa, working on hers...
Lisa had to haul in more tables for us again... everyone was hard at work and then all the sudden realized how easy these are to make!
We had some great young sewers today with spring break, they came with their Mom's.
Loved how creative they all were!
If you missed these classes you can find the pattern yet available at ETC.
Everyone had fun!  It was nice to see so many fun faces, we love these classes!

Family Reunion time

I hauled my camera to work so I could take some fun pictures tonight.....and once there realized the battery was at home in the charger...ho hum.  So no Pictures from our family reunion time tonight.  We all met a Organ stop Pizza, what a fun place to go.  Lively and entertaining and a fun atmosphere!  Ken and I got there at 4 to reserve a huge table, Marcy and Vince came and Aunt Carol and Uncle Dave got here from Kansas via the Grand Canyon, so great they made it in time to join in the fun.  Mom and Dad got there, Chris and MB and Bode arrived, Amy and Aiden and Garrett and Ethan came, then Judy drove in from Farmington and made it right on time! Jen arrived in scrubs from work,  And then Carol and Larry and Sarah and Rachael arrived from Texas via the Grand Canyon. What a great time for hugs and for some meeting them for the first time!  Pizza was had, some  ice cream and it was a fun night! So we set up for the anniv. party tomorrow morning at the church and then tomorrow afternoon everyone is gathering here for more time to just visit and play and be together.  We are hoping everyone makes it!  Still one family on the road to arrive tomorrow afternoon, and those that are here we hope are all coming.  The 4 pans of creamy zitti is out of the freezer, one more trip to costco after the set up and let the fun begin! All those bars in the freezer will have to come out tomorrow too.   I did hit the dollar store today to stock up on silly kid things to have outside for all the kids, so hopefully I'll remember to take photos!

Family Reunion Begins!

This is the long awaited week of our Family reunion!
So the fun began , we got to have lunch at My parents house, Aunt Lea who is sitting next to my Mom, my cousin Deb and her husband Lyman, then there is my Dad and my Sister.  It was so nice to relax and visit with them.  What a neat afternoon!
Here's a candid shot I caught, 2 sisters doing dishes!  At 80 and 86 you wonder how many dishes they washed together as youngsters!  So next fun is Pizza night, One Aunt and Uncle from Kansas should be here, another Uncle from Kansas.  A cousin from NM should make it too!  The other 2 families of cousins will arrive on Friday in time for pasta night at our house for all! With all that live here joining in we should have a big time!

All Cut Up

So I just had to tell you how excited everyone was to see the demo today, makes all the hard work worth it!  Thanks to you all for coming!  Island Breeze was a huge hit!  We had about 50 people show up for the demo... it was crazy!  The energy in that classroom was amazing, so much excitement on how to do the quilt and what to do it out of, it was fantastic!  Course it wouldn't be near the fun if so many didn't show up to cheer us on!  Thanks everyone!  Next month we will be featuring a charm pack, and won't it be neat!  So if you missed the fun be sure and stop in and check it out, Island Breeze will be out in the store and you can still get the pattern there!  This was our 3rd "All Cut Up " demo and we've grown each time, it's amazing how excited everyone gets, we've gotten into even having a few show and tells as people have finished some of the last 2 projects we did, and the new people are still excited to buy the pattern and try those out too!  Yea for it all working!  And thanks to the floor staff at ETC, you guys hold it together while we create alot of chaos!  But it sure is fun chaos!

Island Breeze

Our Inspirational Demo is today at ETC.  If you missed our "All Cut Up" demo here is the quilt and the pattern is available at ETC. for $2.50!  We've got a ton of jelly rolls cut that we used to make this quilt so you might just be able to snag one of them.  It was such a fun quilt to make, it went together like a dream and so fast, you'll love how these blocks are put together, stacked on each other and cut!  Talk about fast and easy.  I finished the quilt at work, sent it out to be quilted and just finished stitching the binding down, whew!  Stop in and see it, you'll love how fresh it is!  And yes we named it "Island Breeze"....well actually we took this photo in Lake Havasu, but that's close right! It ends up being an 88" x 65" quilt so a very nice size.....I'm thinking I need to make one for me! These Wednesday's with All Cut Up are so fun, we get loads of people in.  So there you go, that's one inspiration on what you can do with a Jelly Roll.....next time we are featuring a charm pack!

Lake Havasu

This last week I spent an over night in Lake Havasu.  Barb and I went to teach a class there and do a trunk show for their quilt guild. It went great, everyone was very engaged and loved the 3 suitcases full of quilts we've taught classes in.  It's the largest quilt guild in the state and it was fun to go and meet them and see what they do.  Their show and tell was wonderful, lots of very talented quilters there.  We took all of 4 1/2 minutes to do some sight seeing on our way to teach our class.  We'd been crossing over the "London Bridge" every time we went back to our hotel so we stopped for a photo.  Here I am with Barb and her Mom who trooped along with us.  She was such a good sport and helped with the money and charge cards as we volunteered to take a bit of product along from ETC.  for these gals way out in Havasu.  And they seemed to love it!  We came back with less so I guess they enjoyed getting to shop too!

After the trunk show we got back to the hotel and we had some prep yet for our class the next day, so we popped popcorn at 10:00PM and finished kits and made the sample ( yea for my little traveling featherweight!) and were ready for these gals the next day.  We had about 17 come enjoy the little bag they made, all were very good  seamstresses and seemed to enjoy the class. It was fun to teach "new" people with no expectations and they enjoyed all of our shortcuts and fun.
Lake Havasu has grown, I hadn't been there since they moved the bridge and it was so odd as here is this bridge with nothing out here, well, there is tons there now.  And thank goodness spring break is NEXT week so we missed out on that craziness!
Our hotel was right on the lake, this is out my room, little patio to sit on with a walkway down to the beach... we needed some time there just to decompress.....but alas there were kits to build!
This neat pool with the negative edge where the water looks like it's dropping down to the lake, no one in it but the ducks!
I take photo's of weird things!  We couldn't make this design if we tried!  But the birds can!

Late to bed, early to rise...pretty sunrise over Lake Havasu... on to teach their class, sure was a fun little experience! Since being home we've heard they absolutely loved the whole thing, said it was the best trunk show they've seen and they loved having teachers come!

Covered parking

Here's a random photo I took this last week in Lake Havasu. ( that post is coming!) As we came into town looking for somewhere to grab food we happened on to this grocery store with their covered parking!  Lake Havasu is usually the hottest temp. in the state so what an idea!  Now I'm hearing there is one similar here in the valley.  We had to pull into the parking lot and try it, how cool is that! Only in Arizona!

cooking cooking cooking!

Well our long planned family reunion is happening this week!  We've all been busy with the prep, lots of plans made, shopping done, gathering piles, "social calendar" figured and sent, replys coming in, Saturday's anniversary party for my parents is all planned, food ordered, piles of stuff ready to transport, lists made of what food to take to what occasion at who's house,  Ken and I got the back yard and patio ship shape yesterday in prep for the 34 invited to friday night dinner here for everyone.  Today I made 3 pans of yummies for the freezer, 2 kinds of soup ready for heating, and the list goes on! I think we are prepped now so we can enjoy the week with everyone else!   Now we just need the people!
Can't wait!

Batik Block of the Month

We hung the Batik Block of the Month at ETC. last week.  It's a beauty!  It's huge, 90x100,
I took several photo's so you could see the pretty detail...
It was so fun to make and we have a great crowd now signed up and making it.  They've made their first block but there is still a couple spots left if you want to join in...
 What a beautiful quilt!
