Thornberry meeting in Williams

It was our friend Barb's turn to host our quilt meeting so we all went to her house this month....in Williams!  It didn't take much prompting for the last couple months for us to all say of course we'll come!  The logistics were figured out, several cars packed, lots of food prepped, projects packed and away we went on thursday morning to see where Barb is when she's not in the valley!  Oh it was so pretty.  We set up our sewing in her garage, it was fun to look out and see the trees.  Here is a top that Sue finished....

 Here is Bobbi showing up with a pie...it was huge in that cake box... We loved the nights and the stars, Barb had a great App for night sky, what fun, I may have to get that one!

 Barb finished quilting and bound this one from years past...

 She treated us to BearArizona. I had never even heard of it and it was darling.  HUGE, so much more than I thought it would be.  You drive thru part of it, then get out to see all the babies and so many different parts and animals. I loved the baby bears and the racoons!

 The babies had such fun playing right in front of us!

 And even climbed a tree....if you ever get to go it's worth it!

 We loved her front deck, eating dinner out there, with all the different birds. So many more than what is in other parts of the state.  And the pretty sunsets...... Very relaxing!

 I did finish my Frankenstein blocks for a coming swap...all 7 of those are ironed on, each swapper will finish and stitch the face out, still have my skeleton to do....

 Lorene and Sue... We did go into Williams for a stop at the quilt store.  Another time to just go to dairy queen!!!!

 Lorene and I fixed meals on friday so we had lasagna out on the deck...

Sew and Go travel Wallet

Here are a couple shots from our Sew and Go last week with everyone making their travel wallet.  They absolutely loved this project.  What a neat gift for someone who does any kind of traveling....they will feel so organized with everything in one spot!  

 We are teaching the same project tomorrow ( tuesday) at ETC.  if you want to make one come on down!  We had 40 come last week and everyone was smiling!

All Cut Up

Here's a sneak peek at our All Cut Up project for this week!  I know you all sometimes like a little treat to see the fun we've got planned! Here is what you can do with a charm pack...yep one will make this runner and 2 place mats!  So you could make your runner shorter and do more place-mats or buy one more charm pack and make lots! You can make it whatever size you like too.  It was so fun to make and not hard either!  Wednesday at 11 is All Cut Up at ETC, so come see the demo, $2.50 covers it and you get your pattern and a coupon for your $2.50 back!  You are gonna love it!

Bode's 2nd Birthday party

Yep our Little Bode officially is 2 years old!  He had quite a party to celebrate him this last weekend.

  Time with Papa and Gogo before the party started while we helped set up and then again after when we enjoyed him opening a few gifts.

 Donuts and bagels and fruit for lots and lots of people!

 And then "the ZOO" arrived....literally!

 Lots of fun animals appeared out of that little van, one from every kind of animal in the kingdom!  Here was a blue insect!

 And a toad came to visit....

 A box turtle..... even the parents were all mesmerized...I learned all kind of things!

 Look at this....an owl!  He was just beautiful!  He had a twin and the parents decided they'd only feed the brother so they hand raised this beautiful creature!  It was amazing to see an owl in their family room!

 Their 2 cats were definitely locked away! His feathers were so fluffy, she even had him wave bye to the kids as he'd raise his wings...

 A baby hedgehog came for a visit...

 He was so cute!

 Lots of kids got to enjoy all the fun and so did alot of the adults!

And last but not least a dutch bunny came out!  He was so soft and furry, we all got to pet him!

Celebrating Baby Brock

I got to enjoy a fun brunch out with MaryBeth and her family on Saturday.  We all took time for a girls lunch  to celebrate MB and the upcoming birth of our next little Grandson!  Here she is with her Mom, it's so nice to have she and MB's Dad here for the next month to celebrate so many things!  It was great to catch up with MB"s sisters too.  

 I took along little Brock's hospital wardrobe.  Remember the cute little outfits MB picked out when we went shopping, well they are all matched up with little receiving blankets and burpees.  Chris called later telling me his favorite wasn't the airplane one or the tractor one....nope he liked the crab one!  A little odd to wrap your baby in little crabs but the outfit says it all with the  crab on the behind and one on the front saying I'm crabby!  I'm sure our little Brock won't be crabby but it was really cute!  Now we just need to meet him!  The plan is all set, his birth date is scheduled, we are to be at their house in the wee hours of the morning to wait with Bode until the call comes that it's safe to bring him to the hospital to meet his new baby brother!  I can't wait!  It's going to a be a long few hours waiting to get to meet him!

Christmas mystery class

We had our Christmas Mystery class last week at ETC.  No one knew what they were making, we had 9 bravely come trusting us that they'd love their project and we didn't disappoint!  Mystery projects are so fun, you pick fabrics according to our directions and it's usually a value choice.  We told everyone they needed a background, a red, a green and a brown so they picked and we had such fun quilts leave the class!  This one is mine, I'm wanting to make it into a nice lap quilt so will be adding another border.

 Karen with hers, her green had cute little balls of color which added so much to her tree!

I only got shots of a couple more, Shari had hers all layed out ....

So did Linda, everyone else was puttering away at theirs so it's going to be fun to see all the neat trees come back.  Mystery quilts can be so much fun, we engage alot of guesses along the way while they are constructing parts and pretty soon we unveiled ours so they could see what their blocks were going to be!  Our next mystery quilt is in August, it's a lap quilt and one you will love to do!  Join us!  It's a 2 part class so join in the fun!

Sew and Go Companion Kits

Today is Sew and Go at ETC.  Another 40+ coming for our project this week and another group coming next tuesday, the travel "wallet" I showed you a couple days ago.  We have new companion projects since we had such fun making them and figured you all might need one too.  The one on the right is a purse mirror and then one on the left is actually what we are calling a first aid kit.

 Here they are open so you can see how they look,  The little first aid kit opens up with velcro and makes this cute little box sort of shape, perfect for those few little things you might want to keep with you.  Your daily meds, maybe some extra pain killers, bandaids.  It all fits just right.  There is the mirror opened up.  You will love it with our project that we are doing at the end of the month...hint hint!  Needless to say, be sure and fill out the form if you want these kits cut out of your chosen travel fabrics and we'll have them ready for you at your next sew and go!

Off on a vacation!

I'm all behind on my posts so I'll catch you up with last week! Amy's family came over one night for dinner. They were getting ready to leave on their fun road trip and were all so excited!  We had to swim first of course and then have dinner and brownie sundaes! Time for picking things in the garden, Ethan and Garrett get right in there picking anything with some color!  We had time even for a game of Yahtzee!  They'll have so much fun on their trip, can't wait to hear how they are doing as it goes!

Sew and Go Project

Here's your sneak peek at our Sew and Go project for the next 2 weeks.  I just love this

one, it's a travel wallet.  Perfect for everything you need for your actual travel.  it folds up nice and flat so you can keep it right in your bag...

 Here's the inside which you really can't tell what is going on so I put a few papers inside so you can see...

 The elastic band around the button holds it closed and when you open it there is a vinyl pocket perfect for your passport...then behind it are pockets for other important documents and itineraries.  The other side has a vinyl pocket for ID, then several other card ones and another larger one. Each on pockets that form on each side, perfect if you need several different currency's.    I pulled out some old "cruise" things to try in mine and they fit in perfect, cruise card, if you have rental car info, bus tickets, train tickets, subway tickets.  There is a key clasp hanging from the top too, perfect for that safe key from your room. So everything is organized on one spot, you'll not be hunting for things!  I need to go on a trip!  Course first you can come make one at Sew and Go for you....The first and second tuesdays in July, our travel series is continuing!  I'll show you our companion projects next time!  I do think I'm needing a cruise....my passport looked really cool inside!
