Happy Birthday Amy!

Today is Amy's birthday, my middle child and sweet daughter! Here she is with her 3 boys. They were all helping her open her present! We had a great day on saturday celebrating her! She's getting to escape the night of her birthday to join Chris in CA on a business trip so I'm glad we snagged the weekend before to have a family get together.We started Saturday morning out with a hike out at Usery Mountain Park. It was beautiful out.
We chose the little mile loop but then decided to go to the top of the mountain too, and little Ethan went the whole way up on his own power. I think that mountain was pretty big when you are 2!
MB wore Bode the whole way so she had a good workout!

Here is Aiden, he found a hiking stick, but we got it back to it's owners in the parking lot.
It was so nice out, I'm ready to go back again and spend some more time out in the dessert while it's so pretty out.

We came back to our house after the hike and had lunch, 2 kinds of chili. My folks joined us and we all enjoyed seeing the boys play, Bode and his cousins were so cute together.
So Happy Birthday to you Amy, I hope you have a marvelous getaway ! I'm so glad we got to celebrate you and I'm so proud you are my daughter!

Fun Evening with Amy and Family

Ken and I were invited to Taco night last night! It was so good and fun to share that with them! We got there early enough to get to spend a bit of time outside. We hadn't seen their new Christmas toys so it was fun for the boys to show us those and then we got to see Garrett get to ride his bike with no training wheels! Yea for being 4!
Aiden showed us his new scooter that makes sparks! Kind of makes your skin crawl as it scrapes but it's exciting when you are 6!
It was so fun to see Ethan's new room, it got an "extreme overhaul" this week, the paint, curtains, shelves and new flooring were wonderful, I'm so happy for you Ethan to have a wonderful room now. We had our rice krispie treats I'd brought and then by 7 Ken and I exited so they could jump in the bath tub and get on with their bedtime routine. Thanks again for the fun evening !

Happy Anniversary Amy and Chris

Happy Anniversary Amy and Chris, 10 years ago here you are! Amazing how fast the years go. I hope you get to enjoy your celebration in a couple weeks ( Ken and I get the 3 munchkins for the weekend while they celebrate their big day) It was another beautiful November 10 years ago, what fond memories we have. Have a great 10th and many more to come!

A bagel kind of Morning

What a great way to start a day.....Ken and I met Amy and crew for a bagel his morning and then we went geo-caching. Here is Ethan with his cute little cream cheese mustache...It was a lovely morning out. We went over to the Riparian preserve then to do some Geo Caching. No luck on the 2 I was there for, everything was to overgrown from the summer to get to far in to find the caches. I had to leave to head to work but they hunted a bit more without any luck. Nice morning together !

Fun Evening at Amy's

Amy invited us down to enjoy an early dinner and a squirt gun war this past weekend with them. Here is Ken arriving "fully loaded"....We had a yummy dinner they made, quiche and cinnamon rolls and I brought a salad. The cinnamon rolls were to die for , she got the recipe from Best bites blog. I think we all just wanted to chow down on the cinnamon rolls, forget the salad ! Then the action begins... here's a blurry shot of all three little boys... even Ethan gets the hang of a fun squirt gun !

Amy's Birthday !

We celebrated Amy's birthday this weekend, we started out at the Riparian Preserve to tromp around and find some geocaches. Lots of fun in the rainy weather, the rain stopped at the right time so we had lots of fun hunting for several..

We found them all but one. Just as it started sprinkling we'd found the last one so we walked to the car in the sprinkles, something we don't get to do to often around here !

This one was great too, Aiden is holding the turtle that was under a bush, it had a container under it's belly ! Very creative people out there hiding these !

Back to our house for dinner...MB made a fun fondue appetizer for us ! Everyone was a little wet and HUNGRY ! We had 2 kinds of stuffed shells, salad and I made the cheese bisquits from Red Lobster thanks to Jamie's recipe find !
