Preschool Open House
Ken and I got to go to the Little Love Bug Preschool open house last night. With my daughter Amy as teacher ( Ethan informed me on our date that his Mommy is Miss Amy) and 2 little boys attending they decided Chris would "attend"open house with Ethan and we'd come down to "attend" with Garrett. They got to do a treasure hunt all over finding the preschool room, bathrooms, job charts, names on their circle time shapes, sand box etc. At the end they got their photo taken for their job chart and had a cookie. So Garrett and I did the hunt, he and Ethan were out playing in the yard with the kids so I snapped this one before we left. Amy will have her hands full with 12 little smiling faces 3 days a week. 2 tables full of happiness each time.

Ethan and I had a Date
Ethan and I had our "date" this week. Amy and I chose the day that Garrett started his first day at his other preschool for our "date". It was the day before her open house for her preschool so it gave her a couple hours to "fly" around. Ethan and I went to the mall and played on the toys. Then went to the lego store. He picked a motorcycle duplo set to get to buy . We rode the escalator 2 times in a row and then went in search of McDonalds.
He got to ride on this race car.....and then we got ice cream cones at diary queen. I got a dilly bar and he thought it was pretty good too, in fact he really liked it best, even asked to just hold it!
Ethan and I had a fun little date, I'm so lucky to have a 2 1/2 year old Prince
Charming to go on a date with!

Our Staycation
We had a fun weekend at a local resort having a "staycation" with some of our kids. Their treat to their Dad for Fathers Day. Here are the little boys waiting to head to the pools.
We each had a room again and so there was lots of fun to be had! Here are Ethan and Bode...
Amy and Chris...
We had a picnic lunch , did lots of swimming and then lots of this! "Snack Central" was in our room so it became the gathering spot...
Bode enjoying the "tad pool"
Here's Ethan, he had a blast in the water. In another pool they have a big area about 2 1/2 feet deep, he had so much fun just moving his body in the water, swimming with big strokes under water knowing he could stop and stand up...
It was so cute to watch our room become full of games, toys and fun! You've never seen a bag of Hershey kisses disappear so fast!

After a pizza dinner in the room and lots of chatting and playing and hanging out one by one this happened....until we all called it a night and they were carried back to their rooms and bed.
Here's Bode with a strawberry to munch on...
4 little boys the next morning out by the fountain....
We had fun swimming the next morning too, lots of trips down the slides, in the lazy river and generalized staying wet and cool...

It was fun to all hang out together ! Thanks everyone for the fun time!
We ended our fun 24 hours together with a trip to 5 Guys. I'd never been before and we had fun there. Garrett was so attentive to Bode and seemed to always migrate over to see what Bode was doing. Fun little cousin time together!
Sew and Go August
We had 47 come to Sew and Go yesterday at Scrapbooks Etc. We made these pretty pin cushions and then the cute little thread spool holder. Here is Lorene with hers...
Everyone had to learn how to do the little Y seam but whew they got thru it and another new thing learned at Sew and Go!
We hung up another one of our Mystery quilts from last quarter too. Ce brought hers in all bound. It's for her husband and came out so pretty. Only 2 more classes of our summer series at Sew and Go and then back to our normal routine of something new and different each time....always worth coming for!

Sew and Go Again in July
We had our Sew and Go Again class at Scrapbooks for July. We had alot of fun with these gals and everyone enjoyed doing their little box bag...even the zipper!
This little gal has come to alot of our classes over the summer and just zips everything right up, her Mom has encouraged her so much and gets her extra kits so she can sew at home.

tomorrow's Sew and Go Project
Here is a sneak peek at our Sew and Go Projects for tomorrow at Scrapbooks Etc. Everyone will get to make 2 things, a pin cushion, this one has a neat thing to learn with a Y seam. Also the second little thing is a thread holder. It holds your spool of thread and a needle so easy and fun to grab when you have to go somewhere and sew down your bindings or do some handwork.
Here it is opened. It holds a nice large spool of thread and will be fun for everyone to make, including the YoYo ends. Small projects in size but lots to learn on them. It'll be a fun class tomorrow.
Witches!
Well my buggy barn witch quilt is somewhat together so I took it down to Scrapbooks as we are teaching it this week. This one and the sailboats that have been down there for a couple months. I think more people want to make the witch one as they love those dangly legs! I'm anxious to get it back home and get it quilted up and the appliques finished. I'll post a photo when it's really done. But for now everyone can see what they'll get to make next friday. It's a 2 part class so maybe between the 2 parts I'll get mine quilted and bound! The Buggy Barn technique is alot of fun so it'll be great to see how everyones turns out!

Making Bibs
Our weekly sewing continues at my sisters house, this week we learned to make bibs! Alissa was on vacation so we decided to wait with progress on our table runner and Corissa wanted to learn how to make bibs so that's what we did. They are both patterned up now for baby bibs and toddler bibs so I'm sure more will be made in the future!

Hi Grammy!
Every few days I get one of these on my phone.... a little note from Noah that says Hi Grammy! How fun is that, doesn't make up for not getting to snuggle with him, but our skype sessions help as they hold him close to the screen so I can see all the rolls and yawns. The other Day Jamie and I were chatting and I think he noticed the screen finally....right now he's in to fans and lights and dark things on the wall! Noah you are soooo cute I love my daily little photo's!

Kathy's finished quilt top
Here is Kathy with her finished top from my intermediate class. This is the "white chocolate" one, done in purples! It came out so pretty, she persevered and got it done and the borders ready to finish up, she made hers queen size so that was alot of piecing to do in the 3 week class time. We had a great time visiting during class and I worked on some of my things while she sewed too. She was the only one in class but I didn't want to cancel the class. If someone spends that much on supplies for a class I just can't feel good about canceling a class and would rather help them thru the process instead of canceling it. I guess that is part of sharing your passion!
Christmas tree skirt class
We finished up our Christmas tree skirt class at Scrapbooks yesterday. So many pretty Christmas tree skirts will be ready for the holidays. Here is Linda with hers, it's going to her Daughter who is in Japan with her husband serving in the military. When she gets the red border on it will pop! She has a second one started already for her son, she said it's black and gold.
Here is Lynne's, pretty blues with fun little santa's and animals to hunt for.
Lori had pretty red snowflakes.
Yvonne had pretty red and white like mine.
Lucinda has this pretty one with the stripes. She'll have a red border around it yet. They all did so well, were down to the borders and we even got to spend the first hour learning how to do a continuous bias binding, so they've all got their bindings ready to go on once they are quilted. What a nice group of ladies, and what pretty additions to alot of family Christmas memories.
