My Date with Aiden!

Aiden and I went on a date on Saturday morning! Just he and I. We had a great time talking and hanging out. He got to choose where we could go, as he could choose where the extra $20 bill could be spent that I had! Off we went to the Lego store. What a great day to hit there as they had all the Star Wars characters dressed up and wandering around the store! He decided on a lego watch and then got a little R2D2 key chain for his back pack too. We went to a few other fun stores to check things out and then he could choose where we could eat lunch.....Panda! So after we ate lunch we went to Swirl it for an ice cream treat and then home to swim. Aiden I"m so glad we could spend the time together! Hard to believe school is starting monday and you'll be busy in Second grade!

Zoo Day

Well I had a fun morning thursday at the zoo. I got to accompany Aiden's 1st grade class. I met them there ( didn't have to ride the bus, Ya!) inside the school entrance. Aiden and I and Ryan got to hang out together. They had several pages of things to look for, habitats to notice, things to see like longest tail, sleeping, eating, and on and on. We had a great time! We splurged and went in to see the stingrays. If you've never felt a stingray it's quite the experience. They are soft and very slick. You put your hands down in water and they skim past, sometimes the zoom by real fast.
And then of course your shirt just happens to get wet!
Here is Aiden ( that front tooth is still hanging on!) they all wore their classroom shirts that say Drucks dynamite kids, which is his fantastic teacher.
It was great to get to go since Amy had to teach and I was free for the morning. What a beautiful day out to enjoy spring, the sunshine, green trees, blue sky and these 2 little boys.

Rocket Launch

We got to celebrate Aiden's 7th birthday at the park today with a fun picnic and rocket launching! Here he is with his friend Ryan. Chris my oldest son was a rocket buff since this age and still enjoys building them and getting to launch them now with his nephews. He's anxious for Bode to get to join in! Aiden had 3 friends come and they all got a rocket to snap together and then launch.

Here are Ken and my Dad watching the launching !So fun for all the boys to do it and then they all run to retrieve the parts as the parachute lands! We only had one land in a tree (Chris climbed a roof for that retrieval) two ended up across the street in a field and one in a neighbors yard, so that was pretty good for an hour of launches!
What a fun party at that park and on a beautiful day! Aiden I hope you love being 7 !

Happy Birthday Aiden!

Happy Birthday to one of my best little Buddies! Here is Aiden, today he is 7 years old, can you believe it! He's having a rocket launching birthday party in another week so we are excited to celebrate you Aiden! I hope being 7 is just the best!

Shopping with Aiden

Aiden and I had a great time this weekend. I picked him up and away we went. Build a Bear was his choice of something fun for him so we went with his bunny named Sam. He thought he'd get him an outfit but then decided on a new friend. So SamSam came home with us!And he wanted Somburros for lunch too! Then we went to the dollar store to get his christmas shopping done. He picked things for all his family and then we went home to wrap.
He got his wrapping done and of course this year could spell everything on his tags. Note the 2 bunnies in the chairs!
With just our few minutes to play before he had to be home he wanted to drive the christmas train a few times and then go feed the goats down the street! They were happy to see us and Aiden and I had a great time on our date!

Aiden's school

I got to go to Aiden's school this week on their last day before break, for their assembly honoring the kids in their "character counts" program. Aiden got a red ribbon to wear all day at school and got to stand with the other first graders receiving awards. It was great to see how the schools have evolved in their teaching of basic good character morals. Neat songs and motions all led by the music teacher, very fun and upbeat, the kids love it. When it ended he got to go and show me his classroom this year and I got to meet his teacher and see his desk. Then we all went to McDonalds for a treat and to play on the toys. What a fun last day of school for everyone!

Little boys and a hot day !

Ken went and picked up Aiden and Garrett yesterday and took them to the golf course. First time for Garrett to take his little clubs out. They had a cart and they hit balls on the driving range and then played 3 holes. That was alot when you are just 4 and 6 and it was of course HOT outside ! They came home then and we all jumped in the pool and cooled off, then we thought we ought to go get Bahama Bucks ! Yum, shaved ice with flavors ! Here is Garrett....

And then it was time to go home, so what happens when you've had that much fun out in the sun................both feel asleep on the way home. I think they had a fun afternoon !

Have fun at first grade Aiden !

Here is Aiden last week with his new lunch box, he showed me all around it and how it opens and what you put where and wouldn't you know it, he opened the bottom to show me and there was bunny ! And of course it's green !

Fun with Aiden

I got to pick Aiden up at school on my day off this week. He chose to go to sonic so we got to sit outside on their tables and order our treat. I had a coupon for a creamsicle so he got that, lime of course, but I think he thought it'd be green, he said it was good but next time he'd get the pink one in the picture! He scarfed down a whole little thing of their popcorn chicken and then we headed to Uncle Chris's park. We even got to stop in to say Hi to Uncle Chris and Aiden helped him with his pool,dumping the skimmer basket. Won't be long until we can swim ! Sure was fun catching up with you Aiden !

Rainy Day Adventure

My two Big Boy Grandsons were off to have a Grammy Adventure with me today and we had to change courses because it was raining ! The boys picked to go to the mall and play there, so off we went, they wanted to go to Grammy's Mall instead of "their" mall. We had fun, checked out the new toy area...Shared a pretzel with cheese...

Took a ride on the Carousel....top level in fact ! Altho they wanted to just sit on a bench instead of animals. And shhhhhhh don't tell but we got gumballs...Garretts was red can you tell?

Then we went to Chick fil A for lunch, so we played on the toys there and gobbled our lunch down and went home. The 2 hours turned into 3 but we sure had a fun adventure, we'll have to do our outdoor one we had planned....exploring and hiking around at the Riparian Preserve....next time, thanks for the fun little guys !

PS....for those of you watching the cabinet trek, they are supposedly leaving Albuquerque on their way to Little Rock Arkansas, Ken is counting the hours until he can tell if the load traveled safely !

Happy Birthday Aiden

Today was Aiden's 6th birthday party, can you believe he's 6 already ! We had such a fun time in their back yard, pizza for lunch and cake and ice cream, lots of munchies, we all decided the potato chips and dip were the best since who ever eats "real" potato chips ! The kids and all the "friends" had a great time in the jumper and even Papa and Ethan got in for a little while ! It was an absolute beautiful Arizona winter day so we loved being outside.

Spending the night

Well we had one fun evening/night/morning ! Garrett and Aiden got to come have a spend the night, just for fun. I picked them up at 5 and we went to Chick fil a for dinner, we played on the toys until Papa got there from work, they gobbled up their dinner....my goodness those boys pack it away ! But we left one little spot for some ice cream so we drove over to Swirl and introduced Papa to one of our favorite places ! Then of course it was dark, so this picture is taken at the Riparian Preserve where we stopped to see if they had public viewing at the telescope. It was a clear night, we've had so much rain for Az that it was fun to go and see what they were looking at. We got there in time for them to rotate the roof opening and then we all got a chance to see Orian. It wasn't the belt but the sword or spear or something like that for all you astronomers that know such things. It was fun to show the boys how it looked in the building. We got home and jammied up and had time for a little of this... and other play, a story and off to bed went 2 very tired boys !

They got up early all excited to be here so we played and then made some pancakes...chocolate chips added of course with Garrett helping thru the whole process ! We had time to play and we decided to play tools so we were fixing all kinds of things, here is Garrett fixing the sink ! Oh to be 3 and fit in the sink !

We decided to head out to the park then and enjoy the sunny day so we tried Cosmo park which was alot of fun, it's actually the new dog park and Aiden and I got such a kick out of watching the dogs leaping off the ramp to catch the frisbee and belly flopping into the water. We did lots of climbing up the hills and such and ended up at the lake "making turtle soup". Of course Garrett fell in so we were on our way to the car when the rest of their family showed up to join in. They were going to do some geo caching and invited me to join, we found both of the caches and had lots of good walks and fun in between the areas....one was in the pedistrian bridge over the freeway so that was the first we'd all been on one of those !

They all enjoyed the tire swing but Ethan really wasn't very sure about it !

Even after they went on home I had fun meeting Chris for lunch and a trip to the baby store just to see what we could see ! It was fun to have him help me pick out a little outfit or 2 so the coupon wouldn't go to waste ! What a fun morning !

Little Boy Fun

The Big Boys and I had a small adventure today. Papa didn't want to be left out since he was at the shop working so we went down there for our adventure. We met at McDonalds for some fast play and happy meals. Here is Garrett...

Then we went to the Cabinet shop to ride on the Fork Lift ! Boy what fun for little boys !Here's Aiden ! he was in charge of all the levers for the "forks" to move them up and down and tilting. He did so good with remembering each lever and what it did as it's backwards to the way it actually goes. Fast learner for that eye/hand/brain function !

Garrett had the steering wheel, they moved every pallet they could out in the parking lot and then put it back, the did a donut in the parking lot and one in the sawdust inside, and they picked up a load of wood that was up high and brought it down ! Wow ! (amazing how fast the sawdust got on my camera lens down there !) Once the serious work was over it was great fun to run in the rention area to collect pinecones, they were sure their Mom would want them to make bird feeders out of !

This is serious work ! They are each seriously watching what they are in charge of ( papa too )

After all that work we needed a snack, we let Papa to his jobs and went home by way of Swirl :-) yum !

Aiden had Chocolate and vanilla mounded with gummy worms and sprinkles, Garrett planned in the car to have chocolate and Ba-nilla but then picked strawberry and chocolate syrup and strawberries/blueberries and chocolate rolos. I of course had chocolate on chocolate ! It ended a fun adventure !
