St. Patricks Day Celebration

Marybeth invited us over on St. Patricks day to celebrate with their family in their traditional Irish meal. Here is part of the Axman family, their Grandma from New York is here for a few weeks. This is Melissa, she made a guiness chocolate cake, yum.

Steve carving the corned beef... he only gets to stay this week and enjoy family, next week back to recruiting for Idaho football.
MB with her wonderful steamed vegetables...cabbage, carrots and apples. She used all her Mom's recipes and made Irish soda bread and mashed potatoes.
That was my first real traditional Irish meal, even had the red Irish beer to go along with it ! Thanks for including us MB and Chris. I was wondering tho what the Irish celebrate on St. Patricks day. Denise said she grew up being told it was when St. Patrick chased all the snakes out of Ireland.....does anyone know what the celebration is ???

  1. Looks like delicious food!! Love the corned beef and cabbage, but didn't get to make it this year. St. Patrick's Day is a religious feast day and the anniversary of St. Patrick's death during the 5th century. (Information is from History.com)
