This week Tuesday at ETC.  Sew and Go will celebrate July with a patriotic banner for our series! Lots of fun to make, looks so cute on the new hanger!  Everyone loved Summer so hopefully everyone has theirs bound and quilted and ready to move on to #2 banner for the summer! You can't tell on here but I quilted behind the stars with some metalic thread.
And last week during my design day I moved onto the next one and it's soooooo cute course I can't show you yet cuz it needs some "eyes".....halloween is next on the list!  So this week, we'll be having fun celebrating the 4th !!!!!

A day in Strawberry

I enjoyed my first sunday off since October taking a little road trip Up to Strawberry with Ken to visit my folks little mountain getaway!  It was great to get up there for the day.  We left early so pulled in there by 9ish and had some relaxing time out on their deck.  We sure enjoyed watching the squirrels perform for us, they are crazy little animals.
They always like to take us on a walk around their yard to see what's happening, here my Dad is showing us the cherries on the tree.  The squirrels and ravens were busy getting them already even not ripe!  They sure were pretty to see.
 My Mom with her Peonies...

We had time for a walk, lunch out at the Pine Deli, and time to just hang out in the afternoon.  Was a great visit, short but a fun to take a little road trip.

ETC's Jelly Roll Race

This week, Tuesday is the day of the big race! New pattern to do and what fun to leave with a quilt top done after a few hours!  We're having a potluck of whatever everyone wants to bring for food to fortify us before the race begins!  I love how the shop sample came out!  We stayed with more guy colors....no pink this time....the batik choice is the same way!  Perfect quilt for someone you might know, easy to get done fast!
Here's the rolls for the batik selection, you get to pick!   We'll do some prep and then let the race begin.  Whoever wins gets their quilt machine quilted for winning 1st place!
Just had to show you the cute quilting Monica did...the border has bicycles so she quilted bicycles all over it!  What fun, see you at ETC on Tuesday!

Mothers Day lunch

Still back tracking here...... photo's from our nice Mothers Day luncheon at my parents Church.  They do this every year and it's such a sweet thing they do to honor the woman in their church. My Mom hosted an entire table for family this year!  here are my sister and I with our Mom

Marcy with her girls Alissa and Jen....my Dad is sneaking  by in the back....the men served us and he was in charge again of the lemonade and water.
They always have wonderful entertainment and speakers.  This mother and son entertained us with  great folk music.  Wonderful cultural time to spice it up! So talented
Amy dashed in from Boy Scout activities and join us

Our 3 generations with My Mom and Amy
Cailyn got to come too, Corissa peeking to the right and her Mimi Marcy on the left and there goes Great Grandpa with the water pitcher again!  What a fun time to gather and honor our Mom!

Bode and Brock day

Lucky me had  a planned escape from both jobs to stay home and tend these 2 little sweethearts!  Their normal day care provider Miss Robin was gone and since school is out Chris and MB have to do some creative day care juggling until MB is off for the year.  What fun we had, Brock just loves to eat, he just eats and eats and enjoys it all so much!  He loves feeding himself, he had bits of bananas and little bits of bread besides everything else from the jar!  He's crawling so cute now....on the move!
Starting to pull himself up places, I never did see him get to his feet but sure likes going on his knees to this new height!  Still crawls a few steps and then stops and does that cute turn around thing, just busy moving!
But not as much as this one....he's so on the go, we had fun with so many things, trying out different toys, playing the old record player, play doh, lego's, lot of time with the little people, it gave me a great chance to clean out the toys since they were all out!!!  Blurry photo of his parade...
Everyone took a good nap....yea for little beds!
What a special day it was!

Jeremy's final T6 flight

Today is my son's final flight in a T6.  He's loved that jet!  I can't even imagine the number of AirForce pilots he's trained ( and washed out) over the last 4 years and given them a great first start at flying.  He's loved being a test pilot for this aircraft too, taking each jet up after it gets worked on to push it thru it's paces.  They honor him with a great 4 ship flight today so I'm hoping Jamie keeps us in photos!  Wish I was there to watch!  And the AF career continues.  Moving to Tucson, he'll be Major soon, and yea 1 1/2 hours from here!  A deployment in the next year....#3....so glad he got his family close to us just for that reason!  One never knows what he'll be doing next, I know being back in the air will be #1 on future goals!  Hope Your fini-flight goes well today Jeremy!

Christmas In July at ETC

Getting ready to hang a couple new samples up at ETC.  This one is for our Christmas in July that starts mid July and actually spills into August.  The first one is this table runner that has come out so pretty, I still think it needs a neat star button at the top of the trees!  Still stitching binding down but it'll be done to take in this week.  Lots of fun to make and looks stunning on the table with that red border accent!

The next class then has matching placemats and napkins to go with, you can make what ever number your family needs!!!!  Next in the line up is a darling snowman wall hanging and a treeskirt....more to come on those but for now, here are the latest out of the sewing room!

Mothers day

We hosted everyone at our house for Mothers Day this year, it was a whirlwind of Craziness!  Jeremy was in town to find a home for his family in Tucson so was here to see everyone.  Tons going on, kids swimming, trailers out front being sold out of our side yard ( that's another story) food and munching, we all had a great time relaxing and hanging out.  We missed Jamie and Noah, Chris's family and Mike's family so we felt short by 10!
Amy and I
 We did a girl shot!
My sister and I with Mom
 Marcy and Mom
eating, playing jenga with adults and kids, we had a great time!

Organ Stop

We enjoyed an evening of fun with Bruce and Vickie a few weeks back.  After we joined them at church Bruce brought up the fact that he had heard about a place called Organ Stop and asked if we'd ever been....oh goodness, we go way back with that!  We've followed that place to enjoy the music there since it arrived in  Phx.  We don't go alot in the winter ( quite busy) but we love going in the summer for a cool place to gather.  One of those family places you invite everyone to join you at!  I think they enjoyed it, Bruce was into the technology part of how it all worked.  I think we'll be going back when Our shared Grandson Noah gets to AZ!
I sent Jeremy a text with this photo and just said where are we.....he knew right away.....guess Organ stop is a family favorite for us!  Great music, pizza and ice cream....how can you go wrong! And no one cares if little ones are noisey and get up and dance around!

All Cut Up at ETC

Here's our feature for All Cut Up this week at ETC!  It's a wonderful pattern  that was fun and easy to do all out of a layer cake and one alternate fabric.  the photo really washed out so you must come on Wed. to see it in person.  The light blue just is wonderful in it, so peaceful and serene!  A wonderful Star pattern that you could easily make bigger with some borders...course my brain goes smaller and I'm thinking, hey I could reduce this size and make itty bitty ones!  Or what about itty bitty stars in the corners....see what trouble my brain goes to!
So wed. is the demo day, starts at 11:00, come when we open at 10:00 to sew if you like in the lab.  Everyone is getting the hang of that, come and sew, shop, listen to the demo, make it a fun day at ETC in their airconditioning....its that time of year!!!! You block of the monthers I'll see you there too, come for All Cut Up too, your blocks are out for pick up that day!  $5 gets you this sweet pattern and  a whole day of fun!

Garrett's Star Day

Garrett officially graduated from Kindergarten this week!  They were all so cute, they had a wonderful program that they sang many songs at!  So sweet to hear all those little voices! They all wore special Navarrette t shirts with all the kinders names on the back! Then we were invited back to their classrooms for presentations and the kids enjoyed cookies and drinks.
Garretts special award was for his smile!  The best in the class!  Course we have all known that from his very first smile, he's the one I always said his smile will knock your socks off and how about that, his teacher figured that out too!
So fun to get to go enjoy the last day of school with these 3.....now off for ice cream to celebrate!
