yea for Chick-fil-a !
The end to a very busy "boy" day at Chick-fil-a. Boy they knew right what they liked to eat there and loved the toys ! Even Ethan now can enjoy the fun, he loved banging on the little music keys that make chimes ! He was the lively one after a such a good nap today!
Grammy was almost as tired as Garrett who fell asleep finally on the way home. I don't think he even woke up when Papa carried him in to his bed.

This Yarn is Officially gone
Ok, the yarn that Ethan's blankie that he loves so much is now officially gone. He has his blankie #1 and then blankie #2. Well there was still bits of yarn left so the crochet hook came back out, so now this one can stay in his bed here and now that soft lovey yarn is officially gone ! Hope 3 last him for awhile or it's back to the store to find more that has the right "feel" !

Can you believe it !
Can you even believe it that Aiden is ready for kindergarten. He and his mommy had a great shopping trip this morning and what fun things they found.
Garrett and I got to color and play puzzles until big brother came back for lunch and the afternoon.
And peewee here is just cute no matter what he did !
The errands didn't get run, the house needs to be cleaned but who can resist time with that group of smiles ! At least all that other stuff waits for another day ! These little smiles are worth it ! Can't figure out why Ethan loaded sideways, it keeps saying internal error, I think that means the guru's are at work and I better go get to my work and not worry about it !

DONE !
Well the first rug is officially done. Here it is still on the frame.
And here it is by the door. So much for it making it into the kitchen, I guess the next two will be for the kitchen !I love it and am excited to get another started. I showed it to you last month when it was just started and it seems I didn't really work on it all that long, it's been given time just here and there while I was on the phone etc.

Riparian Preserve
This is my favorite place to go for a walk. It's about a mile from our house.
I love coming here, you get back into it and almost forget you are in the middle of the city. There are acres and acres of recharge ponds that take the treated sewage water and let it soak back into the aquafer under ground.
They've created the ponds with trails and streams between them all and the trees and natural vegetation grows and it's a perfect place then for a birding habitat. Spring is the best time as lots of things are blooming and around every bend is another family of baby ducks.
Along the back are some houses with acreage that have animals. We've talked to the lady that owns one and she doesn't mind if you stop and feed her little farm animals. So we always take a bag of "treats" (something old in the pantry) for the little goat, the chickens and the funny goose with wings and the little miniature horse.
They see you and come running. We've watched these little babies turn into chickens.
The goat makes sure he gets his share !
We try and go very early every saturday and sunday morning. Ken used to groan about my insistant desire for walks but I think now he kind of likes them too ! But now it's to hot for walks here, we were lucky this year and got thru most of June without the heat, so for 3 months we'll be walking laps at the mall, how boring is that ! But in the fall it'll be nice to see what is new and enjoy the rest of the year outside.

We had catchin up to do !
Well the little guys came over this morning so we could catch up after their week long vacation with Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Jamie ! So they came bright and early and we made pancakes. Lots of stirring and only one egg on the floor.
Of course we made chcocolate chip pancakes cuz you get to do that at Grammy's !
Ethan helped too.
And then we devoured every last one of them !
Ethan had his morning nap so we had a great time in the pool. It was so fun hearing all their stories of their great time in Mississippi. Otter pops and then Ethan was up so we had time for
Tinker toy fun and
We had lunch and then Chris and Amy got back so they are off to go home for naps this afternoon. It was fun for me to get caught up with them again and hear all the wonderful tales they had to tell about the airplane ride, going on the base to see all the jets, Aunt Jamie's pancakes, fireworks show their Daddy and Uncle Jeremy had, the cool stairs and their neat beds on the floor that "blow up". Lots of sand and trucks and swimming and of course Aileron ! Papa is in Payson installing cabinets so he missed out on all of it. :-(

And after they left to go home I had to take one more picture. Back in the closet Aiden and shown me what he and Garrett had played while I put Ethan down for his morning nap. The big boys had been "flying" my extra plate stands since when you fold them up they look like jets. These are jets in their parking spots. Yep after spending a week with Uncle Jeremy we know all about that kind of stuff !
It was a great morning for catchin up !

July Thornberries
It was a nice friday morning meeting a friend Esther at Crackers for breakfast. It was fun to catch up with Esther. We used to work together and I enjoy her so much ! Then it was time to go to Thornberries for July. We all had a great time. It was nice to see Barb who popped in 2 times ! And then Mindy who came after work. And Louise who was on her trek back from Yuma. So Sue, Terry P., Bobbi and myself who were there the whole time had a great time being out of the 111 degree heat talking and sewing . We got our tiny 9 patches swapped out, still havn't posted a picture of that swap but one of these days I will show you the craziness we do ! Here is a bit of our show and tell...
This is done by Terry P., She's adding a border yet, it's such a sweet little top.
Here are Sue's blocks she's putting together, this was one of our group swaps ( mine lives in a baggie)
This is another one of our group swaps that Sue has gotten put together and finished. It's like the quilt I enjoy on my bed too, our triple 4 patch.
Sue had a great idea that she uses for transporting blocks, she puts the pieces for each block into a notepad of some kind and just flips the pages as she pulls out the pieces for each block.
This is done by Terry P., She's adding a border yet, it's such a sweet little top.

My Little Dudes are home !
Busy day today with lots of domestic chores and a fun lunch with Chris and MB before they take off for San Diego tonight for a weekend getaway. This afternoon I got to pick the whole Silvertooth crew up at the airport ! It was so good to get little boy hugs and see Ethans little 2 bottom teeth !Everyone grew and had huge smiles for me. They sure had a great time seeing Jeremy and Jamie !
They are on their way home, the dinner I prepped in tow so they can crash after a very long day of travel. Summer arrived while they were gone so they left the Mississippi humidity behind and came home to a predicted 115 this weekend. We are glad they are all home ! We missed those 5 members of the Silvertooth clan !!

Great day with Friends !
What a fun and frivolous day ! For Linda’s birthday we planned a sewing day and lunch , Judy hosted and we had a great time. We did lots of visiting and projects to show and laughed and had a wonderful day together.
We tried getting Cornish Pasty's for lunch and they were great ! We finished baking them and they were hot and so good. We tried 4 different ones and it was fun to taste them all. Here they are ready for the oven. We decided we loved them all ! Judy made cole slaw and I made some pineapple fruit boats.
Here's the birthday girl with her plate !
We enjoyed Denise's great cupcakes , and our little table centerpieces were a plastic truck and boat with fat quarters for her and her little grandsons coming to visit soon. It made the table very festive and fun !
these were our little party favors I made and filled with little hand/nail things. The little pocket things are a free download off the moda bakeshop web site.
Then it was time for presents ! I made Linda this tote bag with one of those little notepad holders to match.
and made these 3 frames inside for her grandson's pictures.
We did get to some sewing too. It was a slow start
in the morning but we were much faster after our nourishment ! Denise and Linda and I have been working on this buggy barn pattern of houses since 2007 so we dig it out a couple times a year and make another set of blocks. It's a fun way to make blocks but does take some time and thinking along the way. You start with this drawing of the block on freezer paper and iron it down to the top of the stack of 6 fat quarters. You cut thru them all along the lines. You do a bit of shuffling with the order of each little stack.
And start sewing one section to the next on each of the blocks.

And here are todays fininshed blocks. We aren't squaring them up until they are all finished...one more set to go !
Here is a picture of what the finished quilt will be, it's huge ! We have the trees done and all but 6 of the houses now are finished. Buggy Barn quilts are alot of fun but you do have to stay with each of the blocks until it's done or there are alot of little pieces to get mixed up !
Here is what Judy was working on, it's going to be a big fabric wrapped bowl, it was coming out great !
So that was the end of a fun birthday party with friends ! It's back to work tomorrow and the "real " world but what a great day today with my friends !

Run Jump and Slide !
Ok, now that you have met Emma and seen "her job" this is Katie.
Her job is to check out the quilts. When you make a quilt top and are ready to quilt it and want to lay it out and make sure the back is big enough and cut the batting big enough then I use the floor or the pool table. It is Katie's job to help. She can be sound asleep in another room but if you lay out a quilt she is there within 30 seconds. I'm not sure how she knows you are doing this. But she loves laying and rolling around on them and jumps at them and scoots them around. Her main job is to play "run jump and slide". This works the best when the quilt is layed out perfectly and then you get a running start and right when you hit it, you lay your forearms out and slide getting the quilt in a big wad ! Then sometimes you arch your back and attack the wad and roll it around kicking it with your back feet ! It's so much fun. Sometimes Emma joins in but she just rolls around, she doesn't play the game, that is Katie's job. It's the most fun when the tape measure is laying there just for her too ! Anyone that lays out a quilt without a cat in the house is really missing out !
So Katie's job is complete and I"m off to load Aiden's halloween quilt on the machine ! Thanks for the help Katie!
