Our Weekend

We had a fast and fun weekend with Amy's boys staying with us. She and Chris had a weekend planned to celebrate their anniversary so the 3 boys stayed with us. I met them for Garretts soccer game and we left from there. Stopped and got sandwiches and went to the park for an impromptu picnic. We came home and just "pretended " to have rest time and then went to the park around the corner to play. They love to ride Grammy's bikes to the park ( about 3 blocks away), Ethan pushes this little tricycle with his feet, he made it about 2 blocks and then we left it on the side of the street to pick up on our way back. We came back and started putting some ornaments on my tree, they did a great job, Garrett really enjoyed it and Ethan surprisingly knew just what to do. By the time they left on sunday it was beautifully decorated with about 3 ornaments per branch along the bottom, and yep it's still that way, I love it!
Aiden was very occupied with the train we have set up around our village on the pool table. He loved getting to drive it. There is Garrett with an ornament sled that he thought surely was Buzz Light-years rocket ship!
Take note of buzz lightyear and a truck going for a ride on the train...
Here are a couple shots from the park...out of order....lots of swinging...

Back to the tree....here is Ethan.
And Ethan again, all jammied up and clean for the night. We had supper and then movie night with How to Train your Dragon, very cute movie!
More train shots, I'm thinking those blue and green "little people" are waiting their turn on the train!
Ethan is so into cooking these days, loves getting out all the play dishes. And yep that is his Mommy's little apron from way back when!
Cute shot from when I looked over while doing the dishes, each boy busy independantly, one on the train, one playing a game and there is Ethan in the corner with Pooh all set up to eat what he was cooking!
Next morning after they helped make chocolate chip pancakes we made our gingerbread train engines. Lots of fun, but we all decided we'd go back to the houses next year.
Here is Garrett's....most of his candy was licked before being placed....
Aiden did a great job on his too.
Ethan did really well getting most of his candy on too!
So......after hosing out the house we decided it had warmed up enough outside so we headed to a favorite park to feed the ducks the leftover thanksgiving rolls....
Lots of play on the toys... that is Garrett and Papa in the back on the swing too.
Endless energy.....
A ride on the train and also on the little carousel boat ride.

By then we were starving so we hit up McDonalds on the way home and they ate and ate and ate! More play on the toys and yep Ice cream! We went home to watch a show and have quiet time until Mommy and Daddy picked them up......a wee bit tired but we sure had fun!
