A day of Adventure !

We took Aiden and Garrett on an adventure today, we started out at the beginning of the Phx. Light Rail, left the car and boarded the train. It was the first time for Ken and Aiden and Garrett. Lots to look out the windows and see as Aiden knows landmarks now of the zoo and airport and the Tempe Town Lake and such so he was able to watch the map and see what the next stop was.
Papa had a good time too ! It was nice on the way, the train was busy but not full, on our way home standing room only with 10 inches of space to stand in ! Whew that was hard but as we got thru Tempe alot of people got off so we found a seat. An added adventure on the way home was one drunk man, and the security guards coming on to haul...yes absolutely carry some woman off the train who was passed out. oh my !
We arrived in downtown Phoenix and had a few blocks to walk to the Destination, there were some fun sculptures on the way and it was a fun walk.
Here we are at the Childrens Museum, it's located in the old Monroe Elementary school on 7th and Washington.
The fun began ! Room after room of fun adventures, learning thru play, it was fantastic !A great place for sensory and weighing things, this was full of split peas and Garrett added a cantelope !
There was shopping to be done.... Garrett was in heaven, these areas had 3 year old all over them ! There was even places to pretend to pay.
Another room had this neat sand car, even the pistons moved when you moved the fan.
They had a blast on it and the motorcycle and the gas pump behind that had switches that lit up.
This was one area Garrett wanted to come back to after we'd seen it all, he LOVED that motorcycle !
We all had a blast with this contraption, it sucked air and you put balls in it and out they'd fly, of course Papa had to be the "catcher", you could switch the direction too. There was alot of belly laughs going on here !
We helped them paint a castle that was being painted, I'm thinking that paint is about an inch thick !
There were great tricycles to ride down one long hallway and a pretend carwash to drive thru. Here comes Garrett !
Even bikes big enough for when you are "ALMOST" 6.The noodle forest was fun ! On the other side was a southwestern area and there were pretend fun spiders that climbed a saguaro castle while you cranked them up and then at the top they sprang out across the room !
Hey for all you music lovers, isn't this cool ! It had a great sound !
We had a great time, there were lots of these little things that you put a ball or disk in for it to travel down, you could set the trail and see if it would work, a whole room of balls that did fun things and went all over a room as they traveled around in tubes, hitting fun things to make noise and the race cars that went across the room on tracks above you were so much fun !
So for all you Grandparents that havn't taken the kids to this, give it a try, it's a great experience to go and play ! We took a picnic along and it helped to have a sit down time to get some energy back in us and then we went back to the favorite areas. So Papa is crashed on the couch and Garrett was pretty much on fumes when we dropped them off, but what a fun adventure we had !

  1. Oh, boy! The kids sure enjoyed it! They had fun telling me all about everything. Aiden wants to have that contraption that shoots the balls out in his own room here at home. Thanks for such a fun day! They will remember that adventure for many years to come!
